Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Education and Science, Aleksandre Jejelava visited the new building of Caucasus University. Currently repair works are underway in the building and it will start functioning from the new academic year. New building of the Caucasus University will be one of the large-scaled buildings in Georgia with its infrastructure and equipment, and it will facilitate attraction of foreign students and development of the Georgian educational system in general.
It should be mentioned that the building, where a modern higher educational institution will be located, was built in 1909 and a well-known educational institution throughout the entire Caucasus - Theological Seminary functioned here for many years. From the functional point of view, there always were located educational institutions in it: at first, Armenian seminary, then Georgian Technical University till 1960; and Engineering Scientific-Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering - since 1960. Since 1976 the building has been included in the list of sightseeing for the foreign visitors.
