Industrial Innovation Laboratory of Ilia State University (Fablab Iliauni) and non-profit student organization (EduBot) organized “Makeathon” - “Smart Robots”. The partners of the project were companies: “Azri” and “Dazga”.
The teams involved in the project compete with each other in creation of the smart robots in a limited time, and then made the smart robots with the use of modern technologies available in the Iliauni Fablab and under mentorship of the highly qualified professionals.
The first place was taken by the GSNB-miner - the robot that automatically searches mine and liquidates them without any human resources. The main purpose of the robot is to provide assistance to humanity in liquidation of 110 million mines all over the world with low costs and safely. The winner was awarded with 3D printer.
The second place was taken by the robot Corner, which can go through the room and build a 2D / 3D map of the impediments. This project can be used to build or update a preliminary map of the space for movement of the various types of robots. After making such a map, it will be easy for the robots to implement the optimized motion algorithms.
