For enhancement of pupils’ motivation, the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia carries out certain projects or programs, including “Subprogram of Medals of Successful Pupils”, aiming to encourage pupils’ academic achievements and to present successful pupils.
This year gold medals will be awarded to 1861 graduates from public and private schools, which have completed their school in 2015-2016 academic years. Among them there are 132 representatives of Kutaisi, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia - Lia Gigauri, together with the chairperson of the Education, Science and Culture Committee - Mariam Jashi and the representatives of Local Self-Government of Kutaisi awarded them with the medals.
Selection criteria for medal candidates are regulated by the National Curriculum. A pupil, whose average score in total is 10 without rounding and gets a positive assessment in the graduation exams, will be awarded with the Gold Medal Certificate of Full General Education. The pupil, whose average score in total is 9.8 or higher and receives a positive assessment in the graduation exams, will be awarded with the Silver Medal Certificate of Full General Education.
Full name of the graduate and the graduation year is indicated on the medal.
