The project of retraining has been launched for the representatives of those companies providing public school catering facilities. Within the framework of the new project, all business operators of the public schools, i.e. the persons responsible for the healthy nutrition of the schoolchildren, will be retrained by the end of the current year.

On the base of the vocational college “Ikaros”, retraining of the first 15-person group has already been launched. First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia - Ketevan Natriashvili met with participants today.

Within the framework of the training, the college teachers will introduce the principles of healthy nutrition and the essential sanitary norms, as well as the rules of storage of the products and cooking of food, in order to preserve the healthy qualitie, to the group members, the participants will also get familiar with preparation of the school menu. The audience are requested to take care of enrichment of menu, a variety of choices, new recipes for cooking of healthy food. It is also important that the provider takes care for supply of the product in such a manner (packaging, design ..), that fruit, vegetables, i.e. the healthy food, which the kids are not very fond of, were attractive for children.

The Ministry of Education and Science offers free retraining to all school catering provider companies.
