Pilot Projects Summarizing Event was held

A joint event of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and Informational Medical-Psychological Center “Tanadgoma” was held, where the results of the pilot project – “Promotion to introduction of lessons on healthy lifestyle within the subject “Citizenship” in Tbilisi schools” - were summarized.

Since 2016 the organization “Tanadgoma”, within the framework of revision of the National Curriculum, takes part in development of the standard of the new subject – “Citizenship” and introduction of elements of healthy lifestyle in the standard. This pilot project was implemented in three public schools of Tbilisi (№11, №112, №86) in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and was intended to:

  • Promotion of successful implementation of the subject – “Citizenship” in the 7th grade;
  • Observation on proper presentation of a healthy lifestyle in the 7th grade standard within the framework of subject “Citizenship” and to the teaching process;
  • Determination of the opportunities of effective learning, in the conditions of topics and interactive exercises to be offered to the students.

Representatives of the National Curriculum Department and Center “Tanadgoma” submitted the presentations at the summarizing meeting, introduced the process of progress of the project to the society and the results achieved as a result of piloting. The directors and teachers of the pilot schools shared their experience with the participants of the meeting. The pupils presented the projects on the topic of introduction of healthy lifestyle.

The event was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, UNICEF and NGOs.
