Qualifying contest starts for bilingual assistant teachers for the young people from the ethnic minorities. The contest is conducted within the frameworks of the program of the National Center for Teacher Professional Development – “Professional Development of Non-Georgian Language Teachers” and the graduates of the Georgian language learning program - “1 + 4” bachelor’s course will be eligible to participate in it.

The project was presented by the Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Education and Science - Aleksandre Jejelava and the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality - Ketevan Tsikhelashvili to beneficiaries and journalists.

Selected assistant teachers will be distributed to the non-Georgian schools in the regions compactly populated by ethnic minorities, where teaching of the state language requires special encouragement. They will assist the local teachers to plan and conduct integrated lessons of language and subject.

For participation in the contest, the applicants can submit the applications on the website of the Civil Service Bureau from July 10 through July21.

Applicant must present a Bachelor’s Degree of the accredited higher education institution and a certificate of training in Georgian language.

Two stages are defined for selection of teachers: selection of applications and interview.

Prior to distribution in schools, selected candidates will take intensive training. Within two years they will receive a salary of 750 GEL and successful program participants will be financed by the state educational master’s grant in the direction of administration of subjects or education stipulated by the national curriculum.
