An International Expert Positively Assessed the Ongoing Reforms in the Country

The Minister of Education and Science, Dimitri Shashkini and an international expert on Freedom of Media issues, Dunya Mijatoyich spoke about the events, carried out in the framework of the Second Wave of Democratic Reforms, at the meeting, held in the Ministry. An international expert positively evaluated already implemented activities of the Ministry. She named the freedom of the media as an example of the development of democracy in Georgia.
“The reason of my visit to Georgia was the conference, organized by the Council of Europe. I had an opportunity to meet with the officials and speak about the freedom of media. We discussed the issues of the freedom of media in South Caucasus, Moldova and Ukraine. I held meetings also with the leading officials and the representatives of NGOs. I hope, we will cooperate on these issues in the future”.

Ms. Dunya Mijatoyich, as an international expert, arrived to Georgia to hold an official visit for the first time.
