Within the frameworks of the Georgian-Estonian project, the trainings were held for facilitation of introduction of a new National Curriculum for the staff of 15 pilot schools by the subject experts of the National Curriculum Plans Department and the Estonian experts.
The training was implemented in a complex manner, which means strengthening of the school communities as a united team and their preparation for introduction of innovations. Accordingly, directors, deputy directors and primary level teachers - in total 70 persons were retrained.
Proper training of the school leadership in the field of education management is crucial. The school directors and deputy directors, as well as the officials responsible for education quality management, were informed about changes in the new National Curriculum within the frameworks of the training.
The instructions were also prepared for the primary level teachers in the frames of the Georgian-Estonian project, which were afterward delivered to the training participant teachers on-site. Instructions were based on the standard and activities of the new subject “Me and the Society”.
In addition to the above mentioned, works on the subjective and administrative guides of the primary cycle are in progress, which will be a major focus for teachers how to plan the educational process oriented on the long-term goals. The work on the guides will be completed by the end of this year and will be available to all interested people in 2018. The guides will assist other organizations in the process of retraining of the teachers of different subjects.
