Within the framework of education reform, modern school infrastructure is one of the priorities of government. Consequently, construction, rehabilitation and equipping of schools throughout Georgia is being implemented continuously. One of the new, modern standards schools was built in Saburtalo district. The new building of the № 61 public school was opened by the Vice Prime of Georgia, Minister of Education and Science, Aleksandre Jejelava, with Mayor Davit Narmania, parliamentarians Mariam Jashi and Levan Gogichaishvili.
The school was built on the site of an old building, where a damaged building was disassembled. The nearly one-century school is serving a very large densely populated district of Saburtalo district and accordingly, the new construction was one of the biggest projects amounts to 7 million GEL.
The new building of the public school № 61 is compatible with modern standards - heating system, indoor sports and assembly halls, library, natural sciences classroom cabinet, school is adapted for pupils with special educational needs, ramps, lifts, as well as entrances at the main and gym hall were installed. The bathrooms are adapted. The school has a Doctor's Cabinet, a power supply unit, it is equipped with new inventory and equipment. At this stage 1130 pupils are enrolled in the school.
