In regard with the 180th anniversary of a famous Georgian writer, poet, publicist, political and public figure Ilia Chavchavadze Tbilisi classical gymnasium where Ilia used to study, will host significant events till November 20. Within the events on November 7 it was decided to establish a society of gymnasium graduates. These are writers, politicians and successful people who will care for school development and strengthening in future.
On the same day the classical gymnasium hosted an exhibition “History connects us with Ilia” where the visitors were able to get acquainted with two-century history. Unique photo materials and manuscripts of Ilia were presented at the exhibition as well as his personal things, a desk, a chair and other items kept in the school museum.
From today up to November 20 the gymnasium will host a cycle of meetings “Ilia- our contemporary.” Authors, public figures, successful people from various sectors, politicians will deliver lectures and hold discussions during a week.
Schoolchildren, teachers and people who appreciate Ilia’s education in classical gymnasium will take active part in the planned activities.
