The First Deputy Minister, Koka Seperteladze visited Tbilisi public school №23 in the framework of the International Day of Book. He supplied the school library with different literature as well as the collection of children literature of Georgian writers. Koka seperteladze met with the schoolchildren of public school №23. He asked them, which writings do they read and who their favorite authors are. The First Deputy Minister spoke with the children about the importance of the books and told them, the Ministry will support the school libraries to advance the school infrastructure as well as add the new books and educational materials to school. Refurbishing the school libraries is one of the top priorities of the Ministry according to the President’s announcement during his meeting with the teachers in Batumi.
The Ministry of Education and Science systematically supports the schoolchildren by providing them with the textbooks. Besides the Government of Georgia has been presenting the first graders with the textbooks, 8 million GEL is allocated to provide all schoolchildren from the vulnerable families with the textbooks. The school libraries will be provided with the secondary textbooks. All schoolchildren will have an opportunity to use these books.
