Deputy Minister of Education and Science Aleksandre Tevzadze held a meeting with senior European experts working in the direction of researches and innovations within the framework of the “Horizon 2020” policy support mechanism.
At the meeting the parties discussed the issue of identification of prospective research fields in Georgia and the steps to be taken to strengthen cooperation of science and industry. They also discussed the measures to be taken for improvement of the research units funding system.
“Horizon 2020” policy support mechanism is a new instrument designed by the European Commission to provide practical assistance to the EU Member States and “Horizon 2020” associate countries, in order they could plan, implement and evaluate those reforms that will increase investment potential in the field of researches and innovations in these countries, improve the researches and innovations policy and system quality.
