Active cooperation of Georgia and Germany in the field of education and science was the main topic of discussion at the introductory meeting, which was held between the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Mikheil Chkhenkeli and Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Georgia, Dr. Heike Peitsch.

At the meeting the Minister emphasized the importance of cooperation with Germany for provision of vocational education oriented on higher education, researches, technologies and innovations, quality and labor market. He also talked about the projects implemented and being in progress with the financial support of the German Development Fund (KfW) and German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ). Mikheil Chkhenkeli expressed his gratitude towards Germany and the German people for the above and in general for their contribution to development of Georgia and also confirmed his readiness for future productive cooperation to the German Ambassador.
