The first results of the Alumni project, initiated by the President are already known. Alumni club is the club of successful graduates. The Minister of Education and Science, Dimitri Shashkini introduced the first results to the teachers, the schoolchildren and the members of Alumni club at the meeting, held in Tbilisi public school №1. Many graduates responded to Alumni project throughout the whole country. According to the graduates’ support to their schools, it can be said, the project successfully works.
The graduates of public school №1 were the first who responded to the President’s initiative. The school principal, Lela Tsikarishvili introduced to the guests the implemented activities, financed by the graduate funds. In the framework of the Safe School, certain amount of money was spent on setting up around 20 video cameras in the building of public school №1. Equipping the school with the interactive board, video cameras and other necessary techniques is also planned. Alumni project gave the opportunity to highlight and evaluate the contribution of the merited teachers. Around 20 teachers were presented with prizes.
The meeting at public school №1 was emotional. Tbilisi Vice-Mayor, Mamuka Akhvlediani and the First Deputy Minister, Koka Seperteladze, who are the graduates of this school, reminded particular moments and expressed their affection and respect towards the school and the former principal, Ms. Liana Shetsiruli.
The Minister of Education and Science, Dimitri Shashkini also spoke about Ms. Liana Shetsiruli’s contribution and experience and offered her to become the member of Board of Advisors, functioning at the Ministry.
Establishing the graduate club - the Students of Public School №1 was decided at the same day. By the announcement of the future members of the club, they will actively cooperate with the school. They also expressed the willingness to support the school development.
