In the Patriarchate of Georgia the event was organized regarding establishment of the Dissertation Council of Tbilisi Theological Academy and the Doctorate level, where candidate for a degree Irakli Orzhonia presented the first doctoral thesis in the field of theology. Mikheil Chkhenkeli, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia attended the event. According to the Minister, the researches in theology go beyond the boundaries of one field, and supreme values ​​and very important spiritual orientation are formed in the whole society exactly on the basis of this knowledge. Consequently, defense of the doctoral thesis in theology is considered in the terms of the historical perspective. Mikheil Chkhenkeli also pointed out that research on religious issues has centuries-old history in our country and it is important that this this centuries-old tradition is restored and will continue successfully.
