Mikheil Chkhenkeli held a working meeting with the Minister of Education of Finland
Mikheil
Chkhenkeli – The minister of Education and Science of Georgia, held a meeting
with the minister of Education of Finland – Ms. Sanni Grahn-Laasonen. The meeting primarily
focused on novelties, innovations and existing challenges in the educational
systems of the aforementioned countries. Moreover, Mikheil Chkhenkeli spoke
extensively regarding the amendments in the Georgian school educational system
and offered his Finnish colleague an active involvement in the process.
The
Minister of Education of Finland spoke about the success of the Finnish system
and expressed her willingness to support the Ministry of Education and Science
of Georgia in the process of reforming the current educational system.
Additionally,
The Minister of Education of Finland invited Mikheil Chkhenkeli to Finland for
a working visit, where both parties will agree on specific terms of
cooperation.
The meeting was held in Lisbon, Portugal, on the Education Ministerial,
organized by the Government of Portugal, where a number of Education ministers,
leaders of various teacher-unions, and educational experts participate from
around the world. Together with the president of Teachers and Scientists Union
of Georgia – Maya Kobakhidze, the co-Founder of the Georgian School
Administrators Association – Archil Sumbadze, attended the event from the
Georgian delegation.
