The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia - Mikheil Chkhenkeli held a meeting with the General Director of the Central and Western Asia Department of the Asian Development Bank - Werner Lipkas and the local representative of the Bank in Georgia - Jeanne Elhan-Kayalar.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister thanked the Bank's representatives for the investments made in Georgia and expressed his eagerness to deepen the cooperation in the fields of education and science. Mikheil Chkhenkeli highlighted the project that implies the introduction of solar energy panels to the public schools of Georgia. Furthermore, the Minister noted that besides the benefits of environmental protection and energy efficiency, it is important that the project connects the students with science and innovation.
On the other hand, the representatives of the Asian Development Bank expressed their satisfaction with the existing cooperation and discussed the importance of preparing the detailed project. Apart from solar energy panels, the Bank will also study other areas where cooperation might be beneficial for the both sides.
At the end of the meeting the sides agreed to establish a working group that will work on specific details of cooperation.
