Cooperation between Georgia and Azerbaijan will deepen in terms of higher education
The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia - Mikheil
Chkhenkeli met with the Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Jeyhun Bayramov, where the success and challenges of the education system
of the two countries were discussed.
Mikheil Chkhenkeli noted that the support in the fields of education and
science, is one of the main priorities of the Georgian government, consequently
a number of significant changes is planned towards this direction.
During
the meeting the sides discussed the upcoming challenges in higher education, in
conjunction with enhancing the cooperation between the Georgian and Azeri
universities. In particular, the sides expressed their desire to create joint
scientific projects and exchange programs for the students and professors
alike.
At the end of the meeting the Azerbaijani colleague talked about future plans
and offered Mikheil Chkhenkeli to share his experiences on current and planned
reforms in Georgia.
Additionally, Mikheil Chkhenkeli and Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Ambassador of Georgia to Azerbaijan - Teimuraz
Sharashenidze and the Rector of Caucasus University, the President of the
International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) - Kakha Shengelia.
Mikheil Chkhenkeli - the Minister of Education and Science
of Georgia is paying an official visit to Baku and together with the
representatives of various countries will participate in the Annual Conference
of the International Association of Universities (IAUP). The theme of the
meeting is "Globalization and New Challenges in Higher Education".
