A newly renovated school was opened in the village of Kardikami in Akhalkalaki

More than 300 students from the village of Kardikami, located in Akhalkalaki municipality, continue to study in high standards, modern-day schools. The Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia- Teimuraz Murgulia, The US Ambassador to Georgia - Elizabeth Rud and Magda Magradze – The Director of the Millennium Challenge Account, together inspected the premises. 
Owing to the funding of the American government, the Millennium Challenge Account Georgia, has already implemented a full renovation of 33 public schools, six in Samtskhe-Javakheti region. There are 28 schools being renovated at this moment. It is estimated, that another 30-33 public school will be fully refurbished during the summer of 2018.

The school renovation project is implemented within the second compact of the Millennium Challnge Corporation. The project aims at improving the 
public school’s learning envrinonment, whilst fully equipping the facilities with modern scientific laboratories. Approximately 90 public schools will be fully renovated in the regions of Georgia during the period of 2016-2019. The overall budget of the renovation procedure is estimated at 54 million dollars.
