Representatives of the European Organization of Nuclear Research in Tbilisi

The Minister of Education and Science - Mikheil Chkhenkeli held a meeting with the head of the second major experimental / program for the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), professor Tiziano Camporesi, and the chief physicist – Karl Aaron Jill. 

During the beginning of the meeting, the guests provided the Minister with the information on the program, in conjunction with stressing the importance of involving young scientists in such studies. The main topic of discussion however was the issue of Georgia becoming an associated member of CERN, which will have a great impact on Georgian scholars. In particular, Georgian scientists will have the opportunity to participate in CERN research and experiments. Moreover, students of masters and PhD degrees will be involved in various CERN research activities. The sides confirmed their readiness to cooperate and discussed the following steps.
