Mikheil Chkhenkeli together with President of the Republic of Lithuania - Dalia Grybauskaite opened a new building for the Center of Lithuanian Literature, Culture and Education

The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia – Mikheil Chkhenkeli, together with the President of the Republic of Lithuania - Dalia Grybauskaite and the rector of Georgian Technical University – Archil Prangishvili, opened a new building for the Center of Lithuanian Literature, Culture and Education.

Within the scope of the event, an exhibition was also opened, organized by the Lithuanian National Museum solely dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Georgia’s Independence. 
Mikheil Chkhenkeli once again congratulated President of the Republic of Lithuania - Dalía Grybauskaite with the 100th anniversary of independence of Lithuania, celebrated on February 16 and noted that her visit to Georgia on its independence day is of great honor.

The Minister underlined the long-term, friendly and partner relations of Lithuania and Georgia. The countries have drawn together under dramatic decades of Soviet authoritarianism; and in the hardest of times, the people of Georgia and Lithuania have strived for freedom, whilst sharing the common vision of the sustainable and healthy future. 

The Center of Lithuanian language and culture opened in 2012. The center allows all interested individuals, to master the Lithuanian language free of charge, get acquainted with the Lithuanian culture and participate in several exchange programs. Professor – Vidas Cavaliasus is leading the lecture courses at the center, specially invited from the Republic of Lithuania.
