In order to increase the quality of general education in Georgia, the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, has integrated various existing challenging subjects such as; human rights, gender equality, a healthy lifestyle, and reproductive health into the current national curriculum. The above mentioned is a remarkable success for the tangible implementation of the national Youth Policy.

United Nations Population Fund – UNFPA, in association with the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, and the implementor partner association - “Tanadgoma”, planned and implemented newly adapted lessons based on the new biology standard of the VII-IX grade.

The above-mentioned project was implemented in three public schools (Tbilisi Public School №54, Tbilisi public school № 150 and Sagarejo Public School №1). The involved biology teachers conducted 12 lessons, whilst the representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia were monitoring the entire process.

The objective of the modeled lessons is to promote a successful implementation of a healthy lifestyle, unbiased, teaching process, in conjunction with implementing a better and more efficient approach in learning biology (VII-IX grade).

At the concluding meeting, the parties involved in the project presented and summarized the achieved results and underlined the importance and effectiveness of such type of cooperation in the successful implementation of the new National Curriculum.
