Today the Parliament of Georgia has adopted amendments to the Law on General Education, under which significant changes have been made to the development of inclusive education:

• Special teacher became the holders of a teacher status;
• The system has recognized alternatives and advanced curriculum plans;
  Special schools have changed status and have become resource schools;
• Integrated and specialized classes have been added to the list of definitions

According to the amendments, specialists employed in inclusive education field, have been recognized as teachers. Their workload and wage rate will be equalized. Moreover, a special professional development scheme is implemented, which will enable such teachers to advance in their professional career.
