Reforms will be implemented in vocational education, which will lead to minimizing the shortage of qualified personnel in the country

Mikheil Batiashvili – the candidate for the minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, whilst addressing the Georgian Parliament, stated, that the development of vocational education is one of the main goals of the Ministry, which will help to eliminate the shortage of qualified personal in the country.

In terms of vocational training, short-term courses will be supported, enabling citizens to increase their vocational qualification and help stay employed on the market.

The Ministerial Candidate believes that there is still a lot of work to be done in this regard. It is important for the vocational education to prepare personnel, qualified and in line with the needs of the current labor market. Usually, re-trained or graduated individuals cannot reach the employers. That’s why it is important to work on these issues. 
Vocational education will feature an aggressive involvement of professional associations and the private sector.

The aim of the Ministry is to establish an educational system that will work in accordance with the requirements of the market and the companies operating in Georgia. This approach will bring positive results to create a human capital-oriented system.
