Mikheil Batiashvili - The candidate for the minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, spoke about the future plans of promotion and the development of Georgian culture.
According to the candidate, 2018 is an important year for Georgia, as the country will be featured as a guest country for the Frankfurt Book Fair, creating a unique opportunity to showcase Georgian culture to the international community.
Mikheil Batiashvili believes that participation at the
book fair should not be the only highlight, he wishes that it should be
followed by various interesting projects.
According to the candidate, important restoration and renovation works will be
conducted to the cultural heritage works. Important steps have already been
taken in this regard. He has given a special significance to the opening of the
newly built Art Academy, where students from the new academic year will receive
education in a modern environment.
Mikheil Batiashvili positively evaluated the development of legislative base of
art schools, in conjunction with solving organizational issues, and signified
them as a positive example of fruitfully merging education and culture.
According to him, the Ministry will take care of increasing the accessibility
to art education.
