Georgian National Fencing team has won the fourth place in the World Cup championship held China and subsequently reached a historic success. Georgia has never achieved this kind of result in the past.

After a stunning victory in the 1/8 final against the National Team of the United States (45:38), the Georgian team eliminated Iran, currently holding the fourth place in the international rating with a score of 45:37, but unfortunately our team lost the match against South Korea 34:45 in the semi-finals. The match for the bronze medals was lost against team Hungary 36:45, leading to the 4^th place at the tournament.

Georgian National Fencing team currently holds 12^th place in the world ranking, but after this decisive success, it is estimate to move upwards amongst the best eight teams on the world.
