The Georgian National team will kick off League of Nations with a match against Kazakhstan

The Georgian national football team has begun its preparation for UEFA League of Nations. The Georgian team will hold their first match against Kazakhstan in Astana on September 6. The aforementioned match commences at 18:00 Georgian time, and will be played on the “Astana Arena”. The match will be served by the Turkish referee brigade headed by Haleel Othal Melier. Additionally, On September 9, after returning from Kazakhstan, Georgian national team will face the national team of Latvia on “Dinamo Arena” in Tbilisi.

Yesterday, on the premises of Tbilisi Sea, where FC Zestafoni finds its base, under the leadership of Vladimer Weiss, the national team was gathered with its 19 men squad. Vako Kazaishvili, Guram Kashia, Jimi Tabidze, Otar Kiteishvili and Giorgi Arabidze did not attend the training. They held their Club meetings on Sunday and therefore, they will join the gathering today. 
Before today's training Vladimir Weiss will hold a press conference at the Hotel "Hualing", and at 18:00 the team will once again train at "Zestafoni" base. The national team will leave for Astana tomorrow morning.

55 National teams will compete against each other in the 2018-2019 UEFA League of Nations.  The winner of each league will automatically gain the right to participate in the final stage of the 2020 European Championship. According to the rating, the Georgian national team is in the last league, where 16 teams are divided in 4 groups. In the first group our team rivals are the National teams of Kazakhstan, Latvia and Andorra. In order to get to the European Championship, Georgian national team should take the first place and then win against the winners of the remaining groups.
