4th graders of Kutaisi Public School #17 visited Kutaisi Third Infantry Brigade of the Ministry of Defence in the framework of Goodbye Weapon project. 4000 soldiers of Third Infantry Brigade hosted the schoolchildren and familiarized them with military rules and daily schedule. The schoolchildren together with the soldiers sang National hymn and military songs. They paid tribute to the soldiers who died in Russian-Georgian war and held a presentation of Goodbye Weapon project.
The project Goodbye Weapon is designed to increase patriotic feelings among the schoolchildren. In the framework of the second stage of the reforms, MES is going to introduce new course of Civil Defence and Safety from the next academic year. The goal of this course is to familiarize future generation with different dangers, military techniques of the country, rule of utilization and teach them how to protect themselves. The new course envisages road safety, first aid, history of Georgian army and review of the Georgian armament.
