Dimitri Shashkini Held a Meeting with the Teachers from Poti

Minister of Education and Science, Dimitri Shashkini introduced ongoing educational processes and 2010-2011 planned innovations to around 200 teachers in Poti Public School №2.

Dimitri Shashkini got familiarized with the teachers’ problems and answered questions on teachers’ certification, Unified Entry Exams, 10 compulsory exams in final grade, Safe School, improving National Curriculum, as well as advancing the school infrastructure and other important issues at Q/A meeting.

As the result of these meetings, Minister and the representatives of the Ministry personally introduce current conditions of the system to the teachers, evaluate ongoing reforms together with them and discuss the ways of innovation development after consultations.

  • 11 Public and 3 private schools function in Poti;
  • 600 teachers work and 6,500 school children study there;
  • Current year, 5 candidates of Golden medal and 19 candidates of silver medal study in Poti;
  • In the framework of mega program “Iakob Gogebashvili”, 2 public schools were fully rehabilitated and 9 schools were partially renovated in 2006-2009.
  • In the scope of Deer Leap Foundation, Poti Public Schools were provided with 270 computers, 8 notebooks and 10 projectors in 2006-2010.
