Deputy Ministers of
Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Irina Abuladze and Levan
Kharatishvili hosted the EU delegation at the Ministry. The delegation
consisted of the Director General of the European Neighborhood Policy and
Enlargement Talks, Director of Cooperation with EU Eastern Partnership
Countries, Meridian and EU Ambassador to Georgia, Carl Harcelli.
At the meeting the EU
representatives positively evaluated the cooperation with the Ministry. The Ministry
focused on the important support that our country receives from the EU,
particularly in the fields of education and science. Georgia's Prime Minister
Mamuka Bakhtadze's working visit was particularly successful in Brussels, where
the held the highest-level meetings with the European Union Parliament
representatives and officials.
One of the main issues
discussed at the meeting was the second stage of the preparation of the EU Eastern
Partnership School in Georgia, which has been successfully implemented. It was
noted that the opening of the European School for Georgia is a swift success
for the entire Eastern Partnership countries.
The sides also discussed current and planned
projects in the sphere of education, science, youth, culture and sport between
the EU and Georgia and agreed on further deepening of cooperation.
