Mikheil Batiashvili, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport attended the concluding event of the International Center for Education in 2018. He evaluated one year's work successfully and thanked the employees for their fruitful work.
Mikheil Batiashvili spoke about the importance of the educational programs of the center and addressed the youth: "It is really impressive numbers - 650 students are financed. It is very important that young people of our country have the opportunity to study at the leading universities in the world. It is important to diversify programs that include almost every direction and field. Every year, we will increase the financing of young people, because you are the future, which plays a crucial role in the development of our country. You know the best of education and that's exactly what you need to become an accomplice of the basic reform that is so necessary for our education system."
In 2018, 9 programs were implemented by the International Center for Education, 191 scholarships were awarded and 6 494 000 GEL was financed by the state for the beneficiaries abroad.
Since its inception, the Center has provided over 650 teaching scholarships for Georgian citizens willing to study abroad.
In 2019, the Center will announce two further international scholarship programs. Programs will be implemented with full or partial co-financing of the Council of Italian Rectors and San Diego State University. At the expense of pilot programs, up to 20 scholarships will be added to the center.
