The main priority for the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport is the healthy and safe environment for the students and teachers alike. Although, the flu virus at natonal level does not indicate the epidemic, it is advisable that the winter holidays for the general educational institutions of the 2018-2019 academic year is extended to January 18, in order prevent the spread of the flu virus. During this period we will continue to observe the existing situation and will announce the future joint decision of the public based on the recommendations issued by the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs.

In order to prevent the spread of the flu virus, educational institutions are advised to use the holidays in conjunction to using disinfecting works around the school premises, systematic cleaning of the classrooms and corridors in the wake of the start of the learning process. Furthermore, to ensure maximum efficiency, a full involvement of school doctors in conducting full-fledged preventive measures is recommended.
