Within the framework of the Education Reform, which envisages a maximum level of integration of Georgian scholars in scientific structures of leading countries of Europe, a full training was conducted by the representative of the Swiss National Science Foundation - Mr. Timothy Ryan.
The training was conducted in two sessions: the first part was devoted to informing the Foundation administration representatives about the Swiss National Science Foundation's expertise on grant competitions and international cooperation. While the second part of the training was conducted to provide information on research opportunities in Switzerland for the Georgian scientific community.
The agenda included topics such as Switzerland's participation in the EU Research and Innovation Framework Program "Horizon 2020", scientific exchange programs, review of Swiss research and research opportunities. The audience was given the opportunity to get information on the possibilities of funding and co-operation of Georgian scientists in Switzerland.
Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation's training center is designed to fund the development of a strategic plan to promote the country's scientific potential for growth, scientists' research skills, and science popularization amongst the youth.
