According to the order of Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Irma Ratiani, the literary critic, was appointed as director of the "National Foundation for Literature".

Irma Ratiani is the author and supervisor of more than twenty international grant projects. By its initiative, Georgian International Association of Comparative Literature was founded as one of the largest international literary association in Georgia. During the years of 2008-2012 Irma Ratiani was the president of this association, and since 2012, she occupies the role of the honorary president.

Irma Ratiani – the organizer of the international symposium - "Modern Problems of Literary Studies"  has been held annually in Tbilisi since 2007 and is dedicated to various literary topics annually.

One of the most important areas of her work are the translations and the interprerary work. Besides scientific translations, she translated the a specific Japanese poetry movement - "A hundred old Japanese poems", from Japanese to Georgian. In conjunction with creating valuable Japanese blogs.

Irma Ratiani is an international scholar and an international scholar. He successfully conducts lectures on Georgian literature in various universities and scientific centers around the world. (See the attached document - the biography of Irma Ratiani).

As you know, small-controlled institutions within the Ministry system have been intended to modernize and improve the LEPLs of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports. As a result, the LEPLs with small volume financing and staff units joined the strategically meaningful LEPLs of this kind and functionally integrated into the organization.

LEPL "Georgian National Center" and LEPL "Writers' House" were united created a new LEPL "National Library of Literature".

The foundation will be the subject of the creation and development of national literature and literary heritage, creation of favorable terms and mechanisms for creation, publication, translation and access to new works. Introduction of residency programs for Georgian writers; Supporting participation in international events; Promotion of children's literature through special financing mechanisms; supporting the teaching of creative writing at all stages of education and encouraging the development of literary criticism. The hous will also promote Georgian literature in other languages ​​and translate foreign literature into Georgian, in conjunction with retraining translators in foreign languages ​​and aid in the  development of translators' professional networks; Study the local market and elaborate mechanisms for book quality control, publishers and distributors in accordance with international experience; Promotion of publication and dissemination of various kinds of literature for promoting publishing houses; Elaborate appropriate training programs for the development of e-books, taking into consideration innovative approaches and new technologies.

The abovementioned LEPL administration has been informed on May 8 that the Government of Georgia shall reorganize the LEPL Georgian National Center and the Writers' House in accordance with Paragraph 5 of Article 213 decreed on April 30, 2019 and shall be established on LEPL - Georgian Literature National Foundation.

Irma Ratiani will meet with the employees of the unified structural unit in the nearest future, and introduce future plans.
