ICT - 3000 specialists will be trained in the field of information and communication technologies. The program is supported by the World Bank and its total budget is 7 million Lari (USD 2.5 million).

The international tender was announced on July 4 to prepare 3000 ICT specialists. The event was led by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia - Mikheil Batiashvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development - Nika Alavidze and Chairman of Innovations and Technologies Agency - Avtandil Kasradze. The training was also attended by ICT coaches IT company representatives, who got acquainted with the tender conditions.

"With the support of the World Bank we will have 3000 highly qualified staff employed in the field of modern technologies. Today we started a really unprecedented project, which means 3000 staff training in technology. This project is supported by World Bank and resources will be provided by them. 3000 people will be able to take part in technologies in different directions, including: coding, programming, blockchains, and other courses. International programs for retraining will start from autumn, after which the graduates will receive international certificates. This project will facilitate the development of technologies in Georgia and the preparation of new and qualified personnel in Georgia"- stated Mikheil Batiashvili.

Within the framework of the program, all citizens of Georgia will be able to get free courses in programming, database, cybersecurity, networks, project management, design, blockchains and other demanded professions, as well as obtain certificates recognized in the international market. As a result, 3000 local specialists working in the field of information and communication technologies will undergo highly qualified teaching aimed at strengthening the ICT sector in Georgia and promoting export of services.
