According to data from Web of Science, one
of the largest scientific databases in the world, Georgian scientists and
research publications have the highest citation index among post-Soviet
countries, which is a major international success of Georgian scientists and
confirms the high level of their research, the validity and high
competitiveness of scientific papers.
Citation index - is the evaluation of a
researcher's scientific productivity, topicality, and influence, calculated
based on the number of citations of one scientist and the number of citations
in the works of another scientist.
It was the first time that the citation
rate of Georgian science was so high, as confirmed by statistics published by
one of the world's leading scientific databases. The database contains 6112
publications from Georgia and the citation rate is 20. 69. These data confirm
that the quality of Georgian science studies is very high.
This achievement of Georgian science, a high indicator of
scientific productivity, is the result of ongoing state-oriented policy changes
in education and science; It is noteworthy that one of the requirements for
scientists winning the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation Georgia
Grant Competitions is the publication of publications in high-ranking
scientific journals.
