On August 6, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia held a press conference dedicated to the Night Serenades Festival. The event was chaired by Deputy Minister - Levan Kharatishvili, Deputy Head of Tbilisi City Hall - Maka Nasrashvili, Festival Director - Nina Tsagareli and mezzo-soprano - Nino Surguladze.
This year the festival offers its listeners a variety of interesting programs. Concerts on August 25, 27 and 28 will take place in the Great Hall of Ilia Chavchavadze State Drama Theater in Batumi. Sarajishvili State Conservatory will host a large hall.
Concerts of world classics will be performed at the Concert Evenings of "Glam Serenades 2019" by chamber ensemble "Virtuosos from Georgia" created by the festival's artistic director - Liana Isakadze. The main conductor of the festival is Vakhtang Machavariani. Famous musicians also participate in the festival: Nana Iashvili (violin), Nino Surguladze (mezzo-soprano), Anna-Lisa Bezrodni (violin, Finland / England), Jan-Eric Gustavson (cello, Finland), Pantelis Kogiamis (guest). Conductor, Greece-Austria), Kazakh State Trio - Erlan Serkbaev (piano), Baghdat Abilkhanov (violin) and Kurvanzhan Akhatov (Cello).
International festival "Night Serenades" was founded in 1982 in Abkhazia by the initiative of famous Georgian violinist and conductor - Liana Isakadze. Due to the events of 1991, the festival ceased to exist and only 18 years later, in 2009, it was restored in the beautiful city of Batumi. Since 2015, according to the decision of the Tbilisi City Council, the festival has been called “Batumi-Tbilisi International Festival”.
