Representatives
of the executive and legislative branches continue meetings with the population
of the regions across Georgia.
Levan
Kharatishvili - Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport held a
meeting with the general public from the villages of Orbel, Lajana and Lailashi
of Tsageri Municipality, together with the Deputy Governor of Racha-Lechkhumi
and Kvemo-Svaneti region -Archil Japaridze, and various members of Parliament.
During
the meetings the parties discussed the problems existing in the villages, as
well as future plans and the overall aims of the government. Construction of a
new school will start soon in Lailashi village, whereas the school renovation
of Lajana village is already being planned. The Art Camps project is
successfully being implemented in Orbeli village, which promotes the cultural
development of the region.
Local
officials informed the population of Tsageri about new cultural routes, which
is a prerequisite for increasing the tourist potential of the region. In this
respect, the tomb of Saint Maximus the Confessor is important, which should
become the main destination of new tourist routes. Discussions focused on the
development of sports infrastructure and increased involvement of the
population in sports.
The purpose of the
meetings is to ensure greater involvement of the population in planning the
2020 budget. Accordingly, government officials will continue to engage in open
dialogue with the population of various regions of Georgia.
