On August 4-11, the European Boxing Championship among the school students was held at the Volleyball Arena in Digomi. 316 athletes from 30 countries participated in the European Championship. The Georgian team successfully competed in European Championship and won 15 medals – out which 7 are gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze.

The European Championship held in Tbilisi was highly praised by the leadership of the European Boxing Union - the championship was well organized and received the approval of both European boxing officials and visitors to Tbilisi.

Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport - Shalva Gogoladze, attended the event and awarded Georgian boxers with various gifts and certificates on the final day of the competition - August 11.
