In the scope of the President’s initiative about replacing physical fitness lessons with sports classes, competition in table tennis and volleyball was held among the schools of Rustavi.

First Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Akaki Seperteladze and Governor of Kvemo Kartli, David Kirkitadze awarded the winner teams. By the initiative of David Kirkitadze, members of the winner teams will spend a holidays in Anaklia summer camp.

Competition was held in several rounds. Final rounds took place in Rustavi Public School №18. Rustavi Public School №18 is one of the schools, where new program is being piloted. Replacing physical fitness lessons with sports classes will become compulsory for all schools from September.

By the announcement of Akaki Seperteladze, giving the sports classes to the school children, making sports popular in this way and developing healthy way of life is one of the priorities of MES.
