The Georgian delegation was ceremonially sent-off to the Qatar Sand Games 2019

The Georgian National Olympic Committee held a ceremony of sending the Georgian delegation to the World's First Sand Games. The Committee wished the athletes a successful performance, President of the Georgian Sand Sports Federation Lasha Lomidze, representatives of the Ministry and the Olympic Committee and members of the delegation attended the event held at GNOC. Georgian delegation will be led by Olympic champion - Leri Khabelov.

On October 11-16, the capital of Qatar, Doha, will host the world's first sand games. The opening ceremony of the historic sporting event will take place on October 12. 4 sportsmen will compete on behalf of Georgia. The licenses were acquired by members of the sand wrestling team. Jemal Kiladze's trained team is staffed by experienced wrestlers, including two-time European champion David Marsagishvili of the 2012 London Olympics.
