On October 17, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia - Irine Abuladze met with representatives of International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) in Hague.

The meeting, also attended by representatives of the European Commission, discussed the ongoing reforms within the general education system framework, including teacher professional development, the introduction of the "new school model" and the subsequent technology integration. Furthermore, the parties agreed on concrete steps to be taken within the scope of Quality Management and Assurance, in the light of the new school opening, scheduled for September. The European School is a project initiated under the EU's Eastern Partnership Neighborhood Policy, where students of Georgia and Eastern Partnership countries will be provided with the financial support of the EU and relevant government institutions.

The International Baccalaureate organization is ready to get involved in Georgia's education reform process, which means co-jointly working on the national curriculum, revising national textbooks to the European standard and the implementation of teacher professional development programs.
