OECD report: Student learning outcomes in Georgia are improving
19.11.2019

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Georgia and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, have evaluated the general education system in Georgia and produced a report.

The report identifies the strengths and weaknesses of the Georgian general education system, reflects stakeholder positions, and proposes specific policy recommendations.

Research has shown that Georgia has made significant progress in recent years in terms of educational outcomes. From 2009 to 2015, 15-year-old students in Georgia improved their reading, math and natural sciences studies. However, this progress has not been equally affected by all the population groups in Georgia, and there are problems that need to be addressed.
