Tamar Kitiashvili, Deputy Minister of
Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia held a meeting with students
of Dual Program and representatives of private enterprises involved in the project
at Aisi College.
The participants discussed the current
work-based learning programs in the region of Kakheti and the current
challenges. At the meeting, students of dual degree programs talked about the
experiences they receive in during the learning process - both in college and in
the industry. Additionally, students also focused on program development
opportunities and the challenges they face on daily basis.
At the meeting, the Deputy Minister spoke
with local employers on the industry general issues for the region's labor
market, in conjunction with putting an emphasis on increasing the number of
work-based programs, the needs of the local private sector and the development
of competences for vocational students in various fields and disciplines.
It is noteworthy that LEPL College Aisi has been implementing
work-based programs since 2017 with the support of the Ministry of Education,
Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, the United Nations Development Program
(UNDP) and the German International Cooperation Society (GIZ). Currently, the
College is implementing 4 dual degree programs involving 28 local enterprises.
