The winners of the contest “New Georgian Play 2019”, founded by Mikheil Tumanishvili Foundation, were announced at the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport.

1st Prize - Anamaria Gurgenishvili - "Boycide"

Second Prize - Davit Turashvili - "There is such a city"

Third Prize - Guram Mtskhonashvili - "Asap"

The Tumanishvili Foundation launched the New Dramaturgy project in 2006. It consists of two contests - "New Georgian Play" and "Translated Play". The competitions are annual and are held alternately.

The three winners were awarded with cash prizes and the Tumanishvili Apples Foundation prize. The New Georgian Play 2019 competition has also traditionally been supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia. More than 500 new plays have been added to the Georgian theater world, many of which are already staged at Georgian theaters.

The Tumanishvili Foundation was established on March 27, 1998, on International Theater Day. Its founder and director is Manana Antadze.
