Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the International Foundation for Election Systems (IFES), aimed at raising the quality of teacher education by developing civic education and creating revised civic education textbooks.

The memorandum was signed by Tamar Kitiashvili, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia and Ketevan Maisuradze, Head of International Foundation for Electoral Systems.

Within the scope of aforementioned cooperation, various events will be held to support the promotion of civic education, in conjunction with refining the entire civic education curriculum. Additionally, student learning resources and special platforms will be created, in conjunction with preparing a special teachers guide. Furthermore, civic education teachers will receive training and support to improve their teaching quality. Workshops and conferences with the participation of various stakeholders will be held on the development of citizenship competences amongst the vocational students.
