The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia - Mikheil Chkhenkeli held an introductory meeting with the Greek Ambassador to Georgia - Dimitrios Karabalis. The meeting was also attended by the Greek Deputy Ambassador for Political Affairs - Giorgos Papanikolaou and the head of the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Georgia - Nikoloz Antidze.

The main topic of the meeting was the initiative presented by the Greek authorities to the UN - "Protection of Cultural Heritage from the Impact of Climate Change". The parties discussed plans for future cooperation in light of protection of cultural heritage. The main purpose of the Greek initiative is to protect the World Heritage Sites, conduct research and raise awareness in this area.
