Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia - Mikheil Chkhenkeli held an introductory meeting with the Ambassador of Norway - Helen Sand Andresen. During the meeting, the sides discussed current and future joint projects in the field of education and culture. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Ambassador Marco Soldik and Embassy Administrative Officer - Khatuna Khutsishvili.
Minister Mikheil Chkhenkeli thanked the Norwegian Ambassador for many years of fruitful cooperation with Georgia and for the projects implemented jointly in the field of cultural heritage and inclusive education. The Minister also emphasized that the introduction of inclusive education in the Georgian education system, started with the financial and methodological support of the Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research.
Particular emphasis was placed on the need to promote mobility for students, professors, researchers and experts in different fields. The sides hope to enhance the cooperation in 2020.
Mikheil Chkhenkeli awarded the best handball player
Georgian handball team hosted the National team of Finland at Tbilisi Sports Palace. The match ended with a tie, a result of 24:24. After the match, Mikheil Chkhenkeli met with Georgian players and wished them success in the next match. The Minister awarded Giorgi Tskhovrebadze with the title of the best player of our team.
The second match of the qualifying round of the European Championship will be held on January 19 in Finland. The winner of the pair will play in the Euro 2022 Qualifying Round.
