The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia Mikheil Chkhenkeli, who is on an official visit to London, met with Joan Burke, Regional Director of the British Council, and Emma Harriet Nicholson, co-chair of the British Prime Minister's Chamber of Commerce.
The conversation focused on the current program "Creative Spark", implemented with the support of the British Council in Georgia. The parties discussed new prospects for the development of this program. The Minister stressed the importance of teaching English in the field of vocational education and expressed hope that, the British Council will play a pivotal role, by using digital learning platforms.
The British Council's "Creative Spark" program is an entrepreneurship education program for higher education institutions. The program aims to promote international university and institutional partnerships in the development of entrepreneurial skills and creative industries.
The implementation of the program started in 2018 and already involves Tbilisi State University, Ilia State University, Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, Tbilisi State Conservatory, University of Business and Technology, Kutaisi Akaki Tsereteli University, Creative Georgia, and other organizations.
Within the project framework, a competition "Big Idea Challenge" was held, which aimed to develop and encourage the business ideas of students, graduates and young entrepreneurs. The competition was held in two stages.
