On 23 February, on the Cadets Memorial Day, the representatives of the legislative and executive authorities, the descendants of cadets, “Chokosnebi” and other honorable guests laid a wreath on the memorial board of adets and honored the memory of the cadets, died in the Kojori-Tabakhmela battle against the Russian army in 1921.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia announces registration of applicants for general education program in the form of extern from February 22 to March 2, 2017.
The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia took part in working of the Fourth Forum of Association of Private Colleges of Georgia. The report of the work done by the Association in 2015-2016 and the results achieved during the two years were presented.
Within the framework of the professional development program of teachers and school directors of “Millennium Challenge Account – Georgia”, carried out by the National Center for Teacher Professional Development, which is being implemented by the Teacher Professional Development Center, trainings are conducting for all public school directors and facilitators for improvement of school management.
A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by and between the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and “Alexandre Ghurtskaia Gymnasium – GG”. According to the Memorandum, joint educational projects will be developed and implemented in order to conduct Olympiads in natural sciences, to organize workshops and conferences for pupils and teachers and to identify talented students.
Within the framework of the information days of “Horizon 2020”, the information day of the European Union Framework Program for Research and Innovation - “Horizon 2020” was held to the direction of safe, clean and efficient energy in the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
World Education Forum was held in London. The ministers of education from 95 countries and up to 800 representatives of the education sector took part in the forum. Many important issues were discussed at the forum, including common problems in the field of education. The ways of solving the problems, new approaches and strategies were discussed. Within the framework of the forum, individual meetings were held with the ministers of education of different countries in order to share their experience.
The international educational exhibition was opened, where Georgian universities, together with up to 100 educational institutions throughout the world, offer various educational programs, study funding opportunities, scholarships and grants to the students, entrants and graduate students.
The Office of Resource Officers of the Educational Institution fully shares the initiative of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia to introduce the healthy lifestyle in schools. For this purpose, the Office of Resource Officers is planning to organize the sports events together with the public schools. The resource officers carried out the first sports event together with the sports teachers of Tbilisi Public School №55 and conducted internal school competition in basketball. Students of IX, X and XI classes took part in the competition.
The Rectors Council was convened at Gori State University. The meeting was traditionally led by the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Aleksandre Jejelava and participated by the heads of state and private higher education institutions being the members of the Rectors’ Council.
Korneli Kekelidze National Center of Manuscripts of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia published eighteen scientific books. The scientific literature of unique content will greatly assist the scientists in their future researches. The National Center of Manuscripts has been working in different scientific fields such as publication of the text of ancient manuscripts, as well as description of personal archives of various public figures available in the center, research of miniatures presented in ancient manuscripts, their submission in artistic terms, etc. since its foundation.
The meeting of the Tripartite Commission discussed realization of the right to increase vocational qualifications and the possibility of acquiring the desired profession at all ages, which is the central task of the Government to solve the problem of economic development and employment.
